There has never been and will never be another human identical, either physically, aesthetically or with your soul. Not even identical twins are anything close to identical people.
There has never been, and there will never be, someone with your unique gifts, talents and traits.
What’s more, each special person is like a snowflake – an individual piece of unique beauty. They float through the air as we float through life. Some will land and perish faster than others, but all the snowflakes will cease to be, in a relatively short time, just like us. In the scale of time, even if we live to be 100 years old, it’s just the length of a short snow shower, compared to the time of the world. No identical snowflake will reappear from the heavens and no identical ‘you’ will either.
We all arrive on earth with a specialised note from God that we are destined to sign, and when you meet someone who is living in alignment with their special God-given note, you can feel it. Whether it’s a teacher, or a mum, a singer, or a champion athlete, it’s so obvious when someone is in alignment with their destiny. And none of those is more impressive than the other, at the end of the day. As long as the person isn’t living a life truthful to themselves, then it’s impressive, it’s not the job itself we should be impressed by.
You might be thinking of people who aren’t living well, or who you dislike, and saying, “well, such-and-such isn’t special!”, but they are. They are special because they’re here. There are people who love them and they are intrinsic to someone else story. There are no extras in this life cast. We are all supposed to be here.
Loving yourself doesn’t mean you think you’re better than anyone else. It means you know you are anyone’s equal. If you put effort into loving yourself if the true sense, not the superficial sense, then you will treat everyone around you better.
We are all capable of greatness. As Marianne Williamson often says, “An acorn grows into an oak tree because the plan for the oak tree is within the acorn. The difference between us and the acorn is that we can say no. We are all here to collaborate on other people’s stories, to help them write their life-note. This doesn’t mean we are all destined to be the greatest at something, just that we are pre-programmed to be the best version of us ourselves.
Einstein said the most important decision we ever make is when we decide whether we think we live in a friendly universe of a hostile universe. If we believe we live in a friendly universe then we believe we are supported by some sort of higher power.
Have you ever noticed how, when you’re having a terrible day, more and more terrible things happen as the day unfolds? I believe that’s because we are attracting it, we believe it’s a terrible day and expect it to be one and so the universe delivers. I’ve done this so many times! I believe this is a positive though, as it means if you start to believe you’re special, and important, things will happen that confirm that thought. Please note: I don’t think people who suffer huge losses, or have poor health, have brought it on themselves or attracted it. This is referring to the day-to-day grind at the moment.
There are two ways to build the tallest building in the city. One is to take advice from experts, work hard and build a building taller than any others in the city. The other way is to build a mediocre building and then know down all the tallest buildings. So many people want to do the latter, but it doesn’t make them truly happy to do that and they know that deep down. You’re candle will not burn more brightly if you blow out someone else’s. Yes, it might look brighter to the naked I, but the room will most certainly be darker. The more people with lit candles, the bright the room. We are the candles and the world is the room.
We are all made of stars is a hugely popular quote on social media. It sounds mental, and I’ve never properly understood it (should I admit to that?! I am not a science-minded person…!) until doing some research before putting it in this post. My google search has found it is actually true and that has blown my mind! So remember this ‘fun fact’ and be the star you were born to be. Not in a Hollywood/Celebrity way but just in the way you try to be the best version of the true you. You are enough. You were literally born a star.
I know you don’t feel like it, I don’t often feel like it either, but now at least I recognise how I’m limiting myself and that’s the first step to change. Please, go back to the first sentence of this post.
“There has never been, and will never be, another you.”
All of the rest of this post might seem woo-woo, or hippy clap-trap, but I bet you know that first sentence is true.
And if that’s not reason enough to shine your light as brightly as you can, then I don’t know what is.
